Laura Lentz is a flutist and studio teacher based in Rochester, NY. She holds flute performance degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Crane School of Music, certification in instrumental music education and completed post-graduate flute studies in Italy and in Pittsburgh, PA. Laura has performed with a number of orchestral, chamber, and world music ensembles during her career including the Madison Symphony, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Northern New York, the Latin American folk ensemble, Sotavento, and the Crossroads Trio, co-founded by Laura in 1998. The Trio is recognized for its unique repertoire from around the world for flute, cello and piano, and has received on two occasions invitations to perform at the National Flute Association's annual conventions. 

Since moving to Rochester in 2011, Laura has a full studio of flute students, both privately in Brighton and Canandaigua, and at the Kanack School of Music. She also has taught at the Eastman Community Music Schooland for Hochstein as Director of its Junior Flute Camp, as well as for the New Horizons Program and as Director of the Rochester Flute Association's Flute Choir Program. She has teaching experience elsewhere as chamber music coach and flute adjudicator for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras, and as Director of the Madison Youth Flute Ensemble, which she founded, as well as for the University of Wisconsin-Extension, teaching flute and chamber music. Active as an adjudicator in the Rochester area, Laura has judged for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's Youth Artist Auditions (Instrumental Award), the Rochester Flute Association's Performance Competition and PreSolo Festivals, as a NYSSMA judge, and for various in-house solo ensemble festivals in the Rochester area. Additionally, Laura serves on the board of the Rochester Flute Association and on the Career and Artistic Development Committee for the National Flute Association. She continues to perform with the Crossroads Trio, is a member of the Rochester-based Lilac Flute Trio, and freelances and performs in the Rochester area.
