Member Profile
I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I played the clarinet from the fifth grade through high school. I moved to New York in 1966 where I worked for Highland Telephone Company located in Monroe, New York.
Upon retirement, I moved to several places in New York and also in the state of Florida. I still had my clarinet from high school so I decided to play again in the Eckerd College Community Band in St. Petersburg, Florida. It is in St. Petersburg where I initially joined the New Horizons Band. I wanted to learn a new instrument, so I decided to try my hand at the trumpet.
I moved to Rochester with my wife, Linda, in 2007. I joined the New Horizons Band, playing the trumpet and the clarinet, the trumpet in concert band, the clarinet in the choir. I also play in the brass ensemble.
I enjoy meeting other people who appreciate music, and I love when it all “comes together” when we play.
