Mike McKain:  Bass and Alto Clarinet
I started with the clarinet in grade school playing in my high school and college bands. Until I joined this organization about 6 years ago, I hadn't played for about 45 years. Taking lessons from Eastman teachers and studying with the amazing conductors and mentors  here has allowed me to regain many of the skills and some of the quality I vaguely recall from my youth.
I'm currently playing the bass and alto clarinet in the NH clarinet choir.,and bass in the NH symphonic band .I also play bass in the SUNY Brockport symphony orchestra and enjoy playing in small trios.
I try to  practice every chance I get.
Since retiring as a science teacher In '96, I have been managing a golf facility on the west side of Rochester.
I teach golf lessons and clinics and spend much of the golf season mowing fairways and greens and picking up balls. Hard work but we have great tans and our golf game has really improved.
I have three children,: one son lives in Kirkland,WA. w/ twin boys,a daughter living in Leesburg, Va with a eight year old boy and my oldest daughter living here in Rochester with three boys.. two of them in college!
